Wade Earns NFCA All-American Honor

Emma Wade capped a fantastic junior year with York softball's second All-American.

The York College softball squad received outstanding news on Wednesday evening. Junior Emma Wade became the program's second NFCA All-American as the squads were announced by the organization at the 2024 NCAA Softball World Series awards banquet.  Wade earned second-team honors for the Spartans. She joins former Spartan Harper Cornell who was a first-team selection in 2005.
 
Wade had a fantastic year for the Green and White. She hit .426 with 36 runs scored, 15 doubles, 13 home runs and a Division III best 72 RBI. Wade boasted an OPS of 1.138, a slugging percentage of .845 and an on-base percentage of .493. Wade had 109 total bases, 19 walks and three sacrifice flies.
 
Wade was even better in MAC Commonwealth play as she hit .513 (20-for-39) with 14 runs scored, four doubles, eight home runs and 39 RBI in just 14 games played. She had a staggering 48 total bases in 39 at-bats for a 1.231 slugging percentage. She also had a 1.800 OPS and .569 on-base percentage in league play.
 
Wade's name is among the national leaders as she is first in RBIs, 13th in home runs, 16th in slugging percentage, and 23rd in total bases. She led the MAC Commonwealth in OPS, RBIs, slugging percentage and home runs as Wade was named the league player of the year.
 
Wade had 18 multi-hit games, 17 multi-RBI games and had a reached base safely streak of 15 during the campaign. Wade set a number of new career highs during the year. She had two home runs in wins over Albright, Eastern, and Alvernia. She had a career-high seven RBI in the March 17 win at Albright. Wade also tied a career-high with two doubles against Stevenson.
 
Wade finished the year with school records in RBIs and total bases while her 15 doubles are tied for fourth, her 13 home runs and her .845 slugging percentage are tied for second on the single season list.
 
Wade headlines a Spartan squad that returns six everyday starters along with their entire pitching staff after winning 26 games in 2024.
