An accounting degree from York College prepares you for a world of opportunities. ACTUARIAL SCIENCE MINOR
By taking the five courses in the Actuarial Science minor, students prepare for three Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams - Probability, Financial Mathematics, and Investment and Financial Markets. Students who take beginning accounting and management courses and who pass two or three SOA exams including Probability, are professionally qualified for entry-level positions as actuaries. The actuarial field combines the disciplines of business, probability, and risk assessment to provide preparation for leadership positions at insurance and financial management companies.

York College of Pennsylvania’s Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program is a Master of Science program designed to prepare nurses to specialize in the diagnosis and management of common and complex medical conditions for adolescents and adults.
An Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) Primary Care is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who provides care in ambulatory and long-term care settings. While focusing on health promotion and disease prevention, AGNPs acquire advanced skills in health assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic health problems. AGNPs in primary care deliver comprehensive care to young, middle, and older adults in a variety of settings with an emphasis on outpatient care.
The Advertising & Digital Marketing minor allows students to explore the full range of the advertising process, including advertising theory, advertising strategy, ad copywriting, media planning, and ad production. Pursuing an Advertising & Digital Marketing minor is especially beneficial to students planning careers in advertising, public relations, or any area of marketing communication.
The African-American Studies minor exposes students to an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on studying the history, culture, government, politics, contemporary issues, and experiences affecting people of African descent in the United States and the Atlantic World. Growth in the population of older persons in the U.S. and worldwide has created a demand for professionals with specialized knowledge in the field of aging. The Aging Studies Minor is a 15-credit interdisciplinary minor open to all majors. Three foundational courses are required because of the biopsychosocial nature of the aging process. Students choose two additional 3-credit courses from various disciplines to complete the minor. Courses within the minor may also be taken individually as electives. The Aging Studies Minor encourages students in various academic majors to expand their knowledge and professional development related to aging and older adulthood.
The American Politics minor teaches students the fundamental ideas and structures of government that create the arena in which political events materialize and are debated in the United States. The minor program in Arts Administration focuses on non-profit management for arts organizations such as theatres, museums, and orchestras.
