York College of Pennsylvania has been recognized as a College of Distinction for the seventh year. This prestigious honor highlights the College’s unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional undergraduate education. The award reflects York’s dedication to fostering hands-on learning, strong student-faculty relationships, an active campus community, and stellar student outcomes.

Colleges of Distinction also honored York with several other awards, which included recognition of its strong undergraduate degrees in Business, Education, Engineering, and Nursing

In addition, the College earned the esteemed Equity & Inclusion award for its commitment to creating an inclusive environment with a keen awareness of different students’ needs, and a distinguished award for its exemplary Military Support initiatives, recognizing its commitment to removing common barriers that often impede this population’s academic success.

“It is an honor to have been recognized as a College of Distinction award recipient for seven consecutive years," said Brian Hazlett, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “This recognition highlights our dedication to excellence and our commitment to supporting and enriching the college experience for our students.”

Since its founding in 2000, Colleges of Distinction has awarded schools for successfully implementing high-impact educational practices and hands-on learning. Unlike traditional ranking systems based on numerical data, its rigorous selection process involves extensive research and detailed interviews with the institutions, accepting only those that adhere to the Four Distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes. York College has demonstrated exceptional performance in these areas, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment that equips students for future academic and career success.

“A college degree opens the door to many opportunities,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “But a truly worthwhile education prepares students to thrive once they walk through that door. York College’s curriculum encourages meaningful student-faculty collaboration through experiential learning that is relevant and applicable to the real world.”
