Information for On-Campus Residents

Welcome, new Spartans! We're thrilled you'll be joining us on campus and enjoying the special sense of community that a residential educational experience provides. Here are a few tips and tools to help make your move as seamless as possible.

New Student Housing 2024-25

The new student application for fall 2024 is available beginning March 1, 2024.

Housing deposits are paid online using the link sent to you by the Admissions Office. Once your housing deposit is paid and processed, it will usually take several days for your application to become available. You may complete your housing application for the 2024-25 academic year using the MyHousing icon.

The new student housing guide will be available soon.

What to Pack
Rent a Micro-Fridge

Students wishing to have microwaves within their rooms are required to rent a Micro-Fridge unit.  These units are specifically designed to temporarily shut off the refrigerator when the microwave is in use. The Micro-Fridge company will deliver the unit to the room prior to move in day!  For more information, visit their website: mymicrofridge.com

Spartan Start-Up Module (required)

Our experience working with college students and available research suggests the first six weeks of college are pivotal in making students' transition and experience successful. Because of this, all new and transfer students are required to complete the Spartan Start-Up Module in Canvas. Students who do not complete these courses on time will receive a follow-up email and a hold will be placed on their student account.

  • Go to MyYCP and log in using your YCP ID and password.
  • Click on the Canvas icon located under the Main Applications folder.
  • For questions or issues, please contact the Office of Student Conduct at 717.600.3874 or studentconduct@ycp.edu.

As a returning student, you have the opportunity to choose your roommates and housing for the next academic year. Below you will find answers regarding room selection, college break openings and closings, the residence halls, packing lists, and more.

Promoting Student Safety and Respect for Others

York College seeks to establish and maintain an educational environment that provides for the development of students as a whole person with an emphasis on mutual respect, personal and professional integrity, and critical thinking. The College expects its students to conduct themselves in all places and at all times in such a manner as to demonstrate respect, strong personal ethics, and the rights of others as required of good citizens.

The Office of Student Conduct strives to help students gain a‎ greater understanding of these issues of community values and behavioral expectations. If students engage in behavior that violates the policies of the York College Student Code of Conduct they are held responsible for their behavior through the student conduct process. The goals of this process are educationally focused.

We hope to help each student gain an understanding of what it means to be a respectful, responsible member of our community by discussing incidents, and by issuing sanctions designed to help the student better understand the impact inherent to their behavior. We also issue sanctions that focus on the understanding that adults must learn to be responsible for the consequences of their behavior. Consequently, serious or repeated violations of the Student Code of Conduct will lead to more serious sanctions.
