The First Year Seminar (FYS) helps York College students become familiar with the campus, their classmates, and life as a new college student. These small-group classes are rooted in discussion-based learning and activities, and they are exclusive to first-year Spartans. Courses are offered on a wide range of topics and are taught by faculty who are passionate about their subject matter.
As part of your First Year Seminar course, you will also have access to a dedicated FYS Fellow. Fellows are current YCP students (sophomores, juniors, or seniors) who can answer questions, connect you with resources, and provide guidance about any area of student life.
