Move-In and Move-Out Information

Fall 2024 New Student Move-In Information: Residence halls officially open for new students on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  

Fall 2024 Returning Student Move-In Information: Move-in dates for returning students to choose from will be Friday, August 23, 2024, or Saturday, August 24, 2024. 

Students living on campus will need to sign up for a specific time to travel to campus and check in to the residence hall. Sign up using MyHousing, located on your MyYCP student portal. Roommates will be allowed to move in at the same time, if they choose to do so. 

Follow the steps below to sign up for move-in:

  1. Log into the MyYCP student portal using your YCP student login information. 
  2. Click on the green house icon: MyHousing 
  3. Scroll down to Assignments to the check-in for your area
  4. Select a date and time that works best for you and click Update My Time. 

The sign-up process will open on August 1, 2024. 

The deadline to sign up for move-in is August 22, 2024. 

The College will use a drive-thru process to check in students for fall 2024. You and your guests will remain in your vehicle. This drive-thru process will occur in the Rail Trail parking lot on West Campus. 

Please enter West Campus via the Richland Avenue entrance. Campus Safety will manage traffic and parking directions during the check-in process. You will be expected to show a photo ID. 

You will receive a check-in packet that contains keys and other important materials for the opening of the semester.

  • First-Year and Transfer Students
    • August 22 (Blocks A, B and C) 
  •  Returning Students
    • August 23 (Blocks AA, BB, CC and DD) 
    • August 24 (Blocks AAA, BBB, CCC and DDD)

The following guidelines must be followed during move-in:

  • Check-in times on August 22 will be Block A (8 - 10 a.m.), B (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) or C (12 – 2 p.m.) — Limited Registration per Block
  • Check-in times on August 23 will be Block AA (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Block BB (12 – 2 p.m.), CC (2 – 4 p.m.) or DD (4 – 6 p.m.) — Unlimited Registration per Block
  • Check-in times on August 24 will be Block AAA (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Block BBB (12 – 2 p.m.), CCC (2 – 4 p.m.) or DDD (4 – 6 p.m.) — Unlimited Registration per Block
  • You will be expected to honor the appointment block you select and not arrive during other time blocks. 
  • Pay attention to signs highlighting entrances, exits and travel routes. 
  • Bring your own hand truck, boxes, etc. to assist with moving items into your room. 
  • Move-in carts will be available in Northside Commons and West Campus on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please discuss your move-in plans with your guests now so you may select the best time to arrive on campus and move in. 

Consider the items that are essential for your success and bring only what you absolutely need. This will allow you to have a more efficient move-in experience.

The York College CARE team works with various departments on campus to provide resources and support for students with medical, social, and academic concerns. We're here for whatever you or a friend of yours needs to be in the best possible position for success and wellness.

  • Emergency — If you feel threatened or are concerned about someone's immediate health, safety, or welfare, call Campus Safety (717.815.1314)
  • Troubling Behavior — If you are concerned about someone's behavior or you have information about a student that causes you concern, please call the Office of Student Affairs (717.815.1461) or the Office of Residence Life (717.815.1281)
  • Confidentiality — If you are a student and would like to CONFIDENTIALLY discuss a concern, please contact Counseling Services at 717.815.6437.

Reporting Incidents of Bias/Discrimination

York College is dedicated to social justice and upholding the dignity of all people. 

Behavior or actions that go against the College's principles of community, or display themes of hate, bigotry, bias, and discrimination, are not welcome at York College of Pennsylvania and will be addressed. Any member of our community who witnesses concerning activity may submit a report through the Bias Reporting system.
