York College of Pennsylvania’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Health Sciences degree program is designed to increase students’ career opportunities across the healthcare industry. Many fields within healthcare are growing rapidly. With three degree concentrations to choose from, our B.S. in Health Sciences program trains students interested in professional medical careers like physical therapists or pharmacists, those interested in administrative healthcare positions, and students seeking careers in community settings and human services.

The minor in Healthcare Administration is designed to provide students with a background in healthcare and ethical and administrative issues related to health care. The minor is most appropriate for students interested in clinical and health-related fields (e.g. nursing, health professions, or medicine), professional fields (e.g. business administration or management), or the social sciences (e.g. sociology, political science, or psychology), giving these students an understanding of the healthcare industry and the impact of business and government on that industry.

The History minor can additionally prepare students seeking careers in law, government and politics; including national security; non-governmental and nonprofit organizations; business; and journalism and publishing.

The Hospitality Marketing minor covers the basics of marketing in the hospitality industry. This industry is one of the fastest-growing segments of the service economy. The Hospitality Marketing minor is designed for students interested in a career in any aspect of the hospitality industry, including lodging, restaurants, clubs, resorts, casinos, and events like concerts or sports contests.

The Human Resource Management minor emphasizes the skills and abilities needed by professionals who work in human resource or training and development units of organizations. Topics covered in these courses include recruitment, selection, and training of human resources, employment law, and labor relations. A student declaring a Human Resource Management minor may not also declare a Management minor.

The Intelligence Analysis minor focuses on studying and evaluating information gathered from a broad range of sources, from satellite surveillance to human contacts, to produce timely and objective assessments, free of political bias. The minor will complement the student’s primary major in developing skills necessary to perform intelligence analysis in the public sector (intelligence organizations at the federal and state levels), nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), as well as the private sector (intelligence companies and think tanks).
